Events
Deer Park Lions Club sponsors many fund raising activities and events throughout the year. A list of this years events is available here.
Our largest event- both in terms of work required and reward earned- is the Smallwood Festival. This September event brings hundreds of vendors and thousands of visitors to the Reese carnival grounds each year. Last years edition was a huge success, and we hope to do even better this year.
Our Train Show was in its fifth year in 2007, and it has become an annual tradition for many in Carroll County. We have had over 1000 people attend and over 100 vendors present each of the last three years.
Our 7th annual golf tournament is in May. The event is organized with the help of Roaring Run, Freedom District, Taylorsville-Winfield, and Greater Carroll Lions clubs. This year all the money raised goes to the American Diabetes Foundation.
The little folk will enjoy our carnival fund raiser. It's a putt-putt golf hole-in-one challenge. We set it up at the Gamber Carnival and the Reese Carnival. Everyone seems to have a great time with it. Lions, kids, families, and golfing duffers of all ages. You only need to drop one ball out of three (five tries if you're under 10!!) to win a prize, and our guys like to give away a bonus ball now and again. And now, and again, and.....
Our basket bingo this year was our most successful ever. We had two King Tut raffles and both sold out in minutes.
Our mulch sale is on two consecutive weekends in April- the 12th and the 19th..
